HANNAH EKO

My name is Hannah Eko, and I’m a writer based in Los Angeles. Outside of writing, I spend a lot of time pondering love, listening, and drinking from life slowly.

I love traveling, especially when it revolves around food, indie bookstores, music, art, and wandering. I’m especially drawn to good wine, good weed, and cities that feel layered and alive. I love dancing, alien lore, studying the Sacred Feminine, comedy that reveals uncomfortable truths, movies that bury themselves in your heart, shopping (more than I should), and quiet trips to Joshua Tree.

A lot of my personal interests circle the same questions that appear in my work: intimacy, freedom, pleasure, ancestral echo, beauty, and belonging. I’m particularly interested in pre-colonial African history and the ways Black women create meaning, pleasure, tenderness inside difficult systems. I often return to Audre Lorde’s “Uses of the Erotic” as both a creative and personal compass.

I also really love being with my family and the people who make me laugh the hardest and match my freak in all the best ways.
