THEA ANDERSON
Thea is a writer working on her first novel. This is her third time returning to Kimbilio. She has been a Tin House Fellow, acclaimed for publishing award-winning literary fiction/critically-acclaimed titles, non-fiction, and poetry — and stories that define the cultural moment.
Her recent fiction work has been published in the anthology, “Infinite Constellations" (University of Alabama Press) edited by Khadijah Queen and Kiini Ibura Salaam, as well as a piece of flash fiction for the prestigious Triangle House Review. Thea was on the editorial team at the Triangle House Review from 2020 to 2023.
Thea is also an astrologer. When she was 9 years old she discovered, “The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Volume 1.” Writing and astrology have been interwoven for her ever since.
Her popular, widely shared essays, “An Astrological Excavation of Convict Leasing in Sugarland Texas” in the Caeli Review and “Harriet Tubman as a Magical, Mercurial Figure: An Astrological Analysis of the Combahee River Raid” in The Mountain Astrologer started me on my path of drawing on storytelling and astrology to illuminate stories of liberation.
From 2021 to 2025, Thea was on the leadership team at the world’s premier astrology app, CHANI, Inc. — and a co-host of the popular “Down to Astro” podcast along with Chani Nicholas and Eliza Robertson.
She most recently completed a writers’ residency at the CAELi Institute — the largest astrological research library in North America — researching my next book connecting astrology with some of the most iconic historical figures of our time.
